About Lynda's a

Salvage & Bloom began with a botheration.

It was Spring, 2011, and owner Lynda Houston was a mom of three young children who wanted a wreath for her porch (a sturdy one that would hold up to Mother Nature) but she had no extra money to buy one.

So, she grabbed her jigsaw and some spare wood and began cutting. She pulled soup cans from the recycle bin and hacked away on those with kitchen scissors and a hammer.

Soon, Lynda’s first rustic flower sculpture was complete, so she hung it on her porch. Then a neighbor asked for one. A friend asked for one. Her mom wanted one. Oh, and so did her sister.

Lynda listed her pieces online and well, just kept cutting wood and metal, in between shooting awkward photos of each flower with an i-pad (resulting in uploads of some really wonky images).

Today, Lynda’s one-of-a-kind wall flowers decorate homes, restaurants, resorts and offices throughout the U.S., including Great Wolf Lodge Resorts in Texas, Wisconsin, North Carolina, California and Ohio, Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and the Red Mesa Grill in Texas. These colorfully robust wreaths are built to thrive in even the busiest environments.

While growing her business, Lynda learned first-hand how connecting with Art and Flowers also unites us with the Earth - and most important - each other.

And, as Salvage & Bloom heads into 2019 and beyond, we are focused on celebrating Earth, Art, and our human connection by way of celebrating other artists and artisans who love flowers as much as we do.

Lynda continues her quest to offer a personally-curated selection of specifically flower-centered art, home decor and gifts, in addition to offering select pieces from her flower sculpture collection.

Yes, Salvage & Bloom began with a problem - but that one obstacle was all it took to set a young mother on a creative adventure that continues today.

It’s a cheerful campaign that endeavors to draw us toward each other, to Mother Nature, and above all, Flowers!

We hope you’ll join us!
